A warm, trilingual international nursery in Novena, central Singapore, for children aged 3 to 4. Across Nursery 1 and Nursery 2, children learn through play, exploration and relationships — building language, confidence and independence.
For families looking for a nursery in Singapore, what matters most is usually simple: a place where a young child feels safe, is truly known, and is gently encouraged to explore, talk and try. At Pegasus International Preschool, that is exactly where we begin. It is our motto: Soar with Confidence.
Pegasus is a trilingual, Reggio Emilia–inspired international preschool in Novena. Our Nursery years — Nursery 1 (age 3) and Nursery 2 (age 4) — nurture children through a warm, inquiry-oriented day, with English as the main classroom language and Mandarin and Japanese woven naturally alongside it. Every child is known by name, in classes with a low teacher-to-child ratio.
At Pegasus, Nursery is where curiosity takes off. Through playful, guided discovery, children begin to explore letter sounds and stories, develop early number sense, and grow the social confidence to play, share and speak up. Our educators follow each child’s interests and questions, extending their learning through inquiry rather than rote instruction.
The Nursery programme runs across two age-based classes and lays the foundation for the Kindergarten years that follow. Each class has a low teacher-to-child ratio, so even our newest and quietest children settle gently and soon find their voice.
Pre-Nursery comes first, from 18 months, before the two Nursery years for ages 3 and 4. Every stage is trilingual and play- and inquiry-based, with learning matched to your child’s stage.
A gentle first start before Nursery. Curious, active toddlers explore through their senses at a 1:5 teacher-to-child ratio — the lowest at Pegasus — while they are still learning to separate from home.
Explore ProgrammeChildren strengthen independence, communication and early social skills through hands-on exploration and guided play, and begin to develop a keen interest in reading, letters and numbers.
Explore ProgrammeChildren express their ideas more clearly and grow in self-confidence, deepening language, numeracy and creativity through inquiry projects and structured play.
Explore ProgrammeYoung children learn best through play, exploration and warm relationships — and that is how the Nursery day is designed. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, we see every child as capable and curious, and we build learning around real, hands-on experiences and the relationships children form with their teachers and friends.
In these small, familiar moments — choosing an activity, telling a story, tidying up together — children practise language, cooperation and independence dozens of times a day, without ever feeling they are “in a lesson”.
At Pegasus, three languages share one happy day. English is the main language of the classroom, while Mandarin and Japanese are woven naturally through songs, stories, routines and play — exactly when children absorb language most easily.
For Nursery-aged children, this trilingual environment builds early vocabulary and a natural ease with different languages and cultures, laying strong foundations for the years ahead.
Across the Nursery years, we gently nurture the qualities that help a young child thrive — never rushing development, always following the child:
These grow at each child’s own pace, through play and warm encouragement — not pressure.
